Coach Pitch and Middle Divisions
Rule Change
No more "non-hittable" pitches
In previous seasons, KCPSL has recognized "non-hittable" pitches by the offensive coaches pitching to their girls. There will no longer be a distinction of "hittable" and "non-hittable" pitches. It is the responsibility of the coach to throw "hittable" pitches.

Middle Division
No Walk Rule
No walks will be allowed
We have adopted a rule that has been effective in other leagues.
No walks will be allowed. If the batter’s count reaches 4 Balls (normally a walk), the batter will then get 3 additional pitches to be thrown by an offensive coach to put the ball in play. If the batter fails to put the ball in play after the 3rd pitch from the coach pitcher, she will be declared out. Once the batter has put the ball in play or been declared out, the player pitcher will resume pitching.
If the batter hits a foul ball on her last pitch from the coach pitcher which is not caught by a defensive player for an out, the batter shall be given an additional pitch to hit from the coach pitcher; i.e., an at-bat can never end on a foul ball that is not caught for a putout by the defense.
If a batted ball strikes the coach pitcher before it is touched by a defensive player, it will be ruled a dead ball and the pitch will be replayed as a no-pitch.
